Michael Conrad began in 1968 his career in advertising as copywriter at Young & Rubicam Frankfurt, became Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather Frankfurt, co-founded in 1972 TBWA Frankfurt, co-founded 1975 Lrzer,Conrad Frankfurt, which merged in 1980 with Leo Burnett Germany and was named Michael Conrad & Leo Burnett from 1982 to 2002.
Michael became 1986 president and chief creative officer of Leo Burnett International and later vice chairman und chief creative officer of Leo Burnett Worldwide. Under his leadership 27 Leo Burnett agencies were named one or several times Agency Of The Year in their countries. In 2000 Advertising Age named Leo Burnett Worldwide Global Agency Of The Year. In 2001 Leo Burnett Worldwide was the Most Awarded Agency In The World at the Gunn Report.
Michael retired from Leo Burnett beginning of 2003.
Michael Conrad chaired many juries of local, regional and global advertising festivals, incl. Cannes 1996, is honorary member of the ADC Germany, ADC Austria and ADC Europe, DDC German Designers Club and got inducted into the German Advertising Hall of Fame in 2001.
