Under Pressure: Transforming Brands into Digital

Theres no other buzzword that rocks brand meetings like this one: digital transformation. Everything a company does is now supposed to become digital. However, bringing brands to life digitally, having a sustainable digital approach, or even leading the market as a digitalized company is harder than one might expect. People have to be trained. Products have to be connected. Processes must be carried out by the right technology in the right alignment. Pricing and promotions have to be automated. Brands should be social, mobile, connected, and data-centric, while still having human appeal. But what is the real catalyst that will manage and speed up the digitalization of brands is it (digital) agencies, digital evangelists, publishers, or the brands themselves? And what role is played by the consumers, who are challenging companies daily with their own definitions of the brand? It sounds as though this will be an exciting panel, right?

We are now operating in an environment where the number of devices, content and ad impressions keep increasing daily. Yet even as content stretches towards the infinite, consumer attention remains finite. Leading brands, agencies and publishers have an unprecedented opportunity to interact with consumers, and are embracing new technologies to create the most relevant and engaging experiences.

This dynamic marketplace compels us all to design strategies to create more meaningful connections ensuring each piece of the consumers experience is consistent and complimentary.

This discussion will explore best practices brands and publishers use to engage consumers, explore marketing automations role in todays media and advertising landscape and highlight omni-channel strategies that will lead to a more prosperous future by creating more personalized, more relevant, and more meaningful experiences for people.

The Mastermind Debate

The Intersection of Culture and Code

Culture & Code is redefining the world around us and one cannot exist without the other. Code is infused into our everyday lives and its evolution equally shaped by cultures own determinants. These two should be inextricably linked the driving force behind the convergence of media, technology and creativity? Marketers, agencies and publishers cant afford to ignore the combined trajectory of these two forces and the most powerful accelerant: data. How data flows between the culture and code ecosystem is going to quickly rewrite the rules of digital marketing. The three masterminds will discuss on how an open data ecosystem can create an enhanced value exchange between brands and consumers and how they can break down silos to drive greater innovation and growth.

Experience Marketing: Creating customers for life

Technology is driving massive change in consumer behaviour, prompting brands to rethink the way they reach, engage and retain customers. Many traditional digital marketing methods are quickly becoming outdated and there is an increasing realization that businesses will live or die by the quality of the experience they can offer. Every time a consumer touches your brand a web click, a call, store visit, a Tweet or a Like, you create an experience, but what do you know about those experiences? Can you really own that experience? In this session Michael Seifert, the CEO of Sitecore, the global leader in customer experience management, will address these questions and provide a blueprint for customer experience success.

The Giant Bet

Solving the Marketers Latest Cross-Everything Dilemma

The cross-device, multi-touch technologies of todays digital age present marketers with big challenges around how they effectively reach consumers. While advertising strategies are evolving, most modern marketers still struggle to convert online and offline marketing efforts into real-world sales. Brian Boland, VP of Ad Tech at Facebook will tackle one of the biggest problems marketers have today, a consumer who is not just across devices, but cross-everything mobile, publishers, video and browsers. Brian will be joined on stage by Arnd Benninghoff, Deputy CEO of the digital media house MTGx and Yann Gabay, MD, Southern Europe of the independent digital agency NetBooster to discuss real-life examples of what it means to understand every consumer touchpoint. The session will explore questions such as: Is it possible to accurately measure the cross-everything consumer? What can marketers do to deliver better ads to the right people everywhere and every time? What is the impact on publishers and advertisers?

The Data Debate

The Role of Data in the Attention Economy

Privacy. Processing. Protection. Data rules the marketers world, especially in a growing user-generated garden of content. However, big data is like poisoned (digital) apples. In order to avoid being seduced by the attention economy to have a taste of its narcissistic sharing, marketers would do well to think twice and use data wisely. Although users are increasingly generating content and sharing all of their daily experiences, the smart use of data is in line with the golden principle: No spam, no stalking, no solicitation! Although the volume of data is growing and is being harvested by marketers with clever tools and platforms, the targeting is still weak. How can marketers more effectively leverage data sets, enhance buying personas, and engage customer profiles in the future? What are the dynamics, and what kind of people are needed in order to improve data value? We will challenge the panelists, in the midst of the attention economy around them.

The Future Debate

The Next Generation Publishers

Publishers have almost lost the battle for content dominance. Many competitors are stepping into their business field. Brands are turning websites into content marketing hubs. Premium content marketing partners and native marketing providers are taking away their corporate publishing revenues. And completely new publishing hubs, such as content aggregators, seem to have found the right ingredients for creating magic headlines. All of these challengers are hiring former professional editors who understand and build upon the dynamics of valuable and engaging content. Users appreciate their platforms, because the sticky content will be liked by their own fans and friends, not to mention the bloggers who tackle in-depth topics. Everyone is stealing loyal users away from the big houses of content. Content reputation is winning. Or is it? Let the experts give us the answers under the experienced moderation of Wenda Harris-Millard!

The Mobile Debate

The Missing Strategy

Mobile advertising is growing at the speed of light but only in terms of marketing investments. Creative approaches and clear mobile strategies are lagging behind. Furthermore, Facebook and Google have hit the mobile advertising industry massively by eating up a huge chunk of the advertising dollars. Marketers are now asking for the secret ingredient of mobile strategy, as the display market struggles to find the right advertising formats and creative approaches to generate business impact. Will the future of mobile advertising revolve more around user-oriented value, contextual use cases or big mobile formats? And what will it look like? We will ask our panelists, and we wont let them get away without giving us a smart outlook.
