Cherno Jobatey is in Germany wellknown as “the Morning Guy", due to the fact that he anchored Germany´s ZDFmorning news show for twenty years. The Times (London) called him "The most high-profile black journalist in television”, the leading newspaper FAZ muses “Cherno is Germany’s most entertaining alarm clock.” Actually he presents his own interview show with leading German politicians and decision maker under the title “on the road with…” on the ZDF-network. Additionally he is hosting talk shows like the UdLDigital Talkshow, town hall meetings and events. Since February 2009 he publishes his daily news & opinions blog: http://www.jobateyjournal.de/ aggregating German media. Cherno Jobatey is known for always wearing sneakers.
Cherno Jobatey is a native Berliner. After studying politics at Berlin’s Free University and at UCLA in California he started his career at the local radio station RIAS (Radio in the American Sector), wrote for the weeklies "Wirtschaftswoche" and "Der Spiegel" and other opinion leading magazines. He joined the Berlin’s TV-station SFB for local news. There he got the call from the ARD-Network to present several entertainment shows, such as the German "Candid Camera" “Memory” and “Cherno. The Talkshow.” Sind October 2013 Cherno Jobatey is also the editor of Huffington Post Germany. Cherno Jobatey is continuously engaged in Charity events and Community services focusing on families and children. Among others he is a Goodwill-Ambassador for UNICEF and SOS-Children’s villages.
